I have been trying to root my LG Optimus 2x wich I previously upgraded to the stock LG ICS but with no success until I fount the following instructions. I tried them and they worked for me nicely.
They were in Spanish so I have them here in English as well.
A) Download O2X-nVFlash-bootloader_unlock_v30a + CWM6.zip and unzip it.
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1EW3mRxeMIeOGlvSEFvMWdrRmc
B) Set the mode mobile nVFlash
- Turn off the handset and press the VOL-and VOL + while connecting the USB
- Windows will detect a new device (APX) install the driver that came with the recovery
C) Open a CMD in Windows and go to the path where you unzipped the O2X-nVFlash-bootloader_unlock_v30a + CWM6.zip and executes the first command:
nvflash --bct E1108_Hynix_512MB_H8TBR00U0MLR-0DM_300MHz_final_emmc_x8.bct --bl fastboot.bin --download 4 bootloader.bin
D) Once the message has been "... sent successfully" and returned the prompt (C: \ .....) disconnects the phone, wait 10 seconds and put it back in so nVFlash.
E) From the previous CMD and run the same route
nvflash --bct E1108_Hynix_512MB_H8TBR00U0MLR-0DM_300MHz_final_emmc_x8.bct --bl fastboot.bin --download 15 recovery.img
F) Once the message has been "... sent successfully" and returned the prompt (C: \ .....) put the phone off the SD card and battery.
G) Root.zip SuperSU Download and start the phone in ClockworkMod.
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1EW3mRxeMIeUF9zNGNEOUxWY1U
H) the following:
-> Mounts and storage
-> Mounts USB storage (then connect your phone to your PC and copy it to the external SD SuperSU Root.zip file)
-> (Once copied) umount USB storage
-> Install zip from sdcard
-> Choose zip from sdcard (look for the SuperSU Root.zip and install it)
-> + + + + Go Back + + + + (Beware! will if you want to FIX root permissions, you say YES. Will ask twice.)
-> Reboot system now.
And that's it! to enjoy the V30A
*** This method I've tested and works perfectly.
